The Indira Gandhi National Open University admission for three online programmes

The Indira Gandhi National Open University’s (IGNOU’s) Chair for Sustainable Development (CSD) announces admission for three online programmes — leadership programme on nutrition security and sustainable development (LPNSSD), appreciation programme on sustainable management of Ganga- a scientific approach (APSMG) and leadership programme on Himalayan ecosystems (LPHECO).

The objective of these programmes is to sensitise the policy makers, administrators, scientists and other stakeholders in the emerging discipline of sustainability science.

Their eligibility is a graduation degree in any subject. Postgraduate students, researchers, scientists, engineers, medical doctors, stake holders, policy makers, administrators and other professionals with requisite educational qualifications will be given preference.

These online platform courses that are available on Sustainability Action and Virtual Education (SAVE) offer a complete virtual learning environment suite covering all activities from registration to certification. It consists of integrated multimedia courseware, online counseling and mentoring, 24 x 7 learner support; group based online seminar, online project platform and online term end examination.

The programme duration for APSMG is minimum one and a half months and maximum eight months while that for LPNSSD and LPHECO is minimum one month and maximum six months.

Last date for submission of application forms is April 15.

Eligibility:
Indian Nationals securing 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA (55% marks or 6.0/10 CGPA for SC, ST category) in 12th (i.e. 10 + 2) level or equivalent, with Mathematics as one of the subjects at either 10+1 or 10+2 level or at both the levels AND Qualifying Degree - Bachelor’s Degree of Full time* 3 year or more duration from a recognized University with at least one of the following as a chosen subject of study:

Mathematics, Statistics, Business Mathematics, Business Statistics, Discrete Mathematics, Mathematical Foundations of Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Elementary Mathematics, Elementary Statistics are eligible to apply for NIMCET-2012.

The percentages of marks in 10+2 and qualifying degree are to be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in all the subjects (including optional subjects, if any) studied.

Students who have completed/completing qualifying degree (programme of three year or more duration) from Open Universities are eligible to apply provided their programme is approved by UGC or AICTE and Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India.

The candidates who are appearing for all the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for NIMCET-2012. Such candidates shall have to furnish the proof of fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NIMCET-2012 preferably at the time of Counseling/Admission but not later than 31st August, 2012, failing which their admission is liable to be cancelled by the respective NITs.

The completed application form with all the documents as listed in the check list should be sent to The Secretary, NIMCET - 2012, Warangal - 506 004 by speed post/registered post so as to reach on or before Monday, 16th April, 2012. The application form can also be submitted in the office of NIMCET-2012 at NIT, Warangal by hand on all working days between 10.00AM and 05.00 PM.

OMR application form with Information Brochure can be purchased from Last week of Jan 2012 to Last week of February 2012(both days inclusive) from Head Post Offices & Mukhya Dak Ghar of Uttar Pradesh. However, the University will not be responsible if the forms are not available at any of such places mentioned above on certain date(s).
The candidate can fillup the On-Line application form, from any place through internet by loging on to www.mtu.ac.in and www.uptu.ac.in from Last week of Jan 2012 to Last week of Feb 2012 as per the detailed procedure given in the websites.
After submit button on the On-Line application form, the candidate should take printout of the completed application form. The candidate should retain his/her copy and complete with photograph and signature the other copy and post the same along with bank challan duely verified  by the bank for having deposited the fee as applicable as per clause 4.

How to Apply Step I : A candidate can register for one paper from the morning session viz. Law or Engineering or Health Sciences and one paper from the afternoon session viz. General or Design Register at SLS SET Website www.set-test.org. This will generate your SET ID.
You need to upload latest scanned photograph ( in the given format and size ) of your own at the time of SLS online registration.

Step II : Pay a non-refundable fee of rs. 1500/- towards the Test Fee and the prospectus of undergraduate programs of Symbiosis International University. The SIU Admission Cell will courier a copy of prospectus to the address registered at Symbiosis website www.set-test.org.

Applications are invited for admission to the following programmes in Vels University, Chennai for the academic year 2012 - 13.

Important Dates to Remember:
Date of Entrance Examination: 12.05.2012
Issue of application forms open from: 13.02.2012
Last Date for submission of Application Forms: 03.03.2012

Application Cost: Rs.500/- (Rs.350/- for all non-entrance courses)

Mode of Payment (DD or Cash):
Demand Draft in favour of "Registrar, Vels University" payable at Chennai. The name and address of the candidate should be written in the reverse of the demand draft.
Application Forms:
  • In Person: On payment of cash Rs.500/- at designated branches of Axis Bank or By remitting cash Rs.500/- at the Office of the University.
  • By Post: By sending a DD for Rs.500/- favouring "Registrar, Vels University" payable at Chennai, along with a self-addressed stamped envelope.
  • Appply Online: By downloading from the website www.velsuniv.ac.in and applying online. Payment can be made using Credit card or by simply sending a DD for the required amount along with the downloaded application form.
